Every year, when the longest day meets the shortest night, summer is welcomed in the Alpine region with spectacular mountain bonfires and strings of lights along the ridges. As the sun sets, bonfires gradually light up the peaks. It seems as though the mountains around Gastein are ablaze. You can enjoy a magnificent view from the 360° Stubnerkogel observation peak at 2,300 meters in Bad Gastein and from the Schlossalm above Bad Hofgastein.

Evening rides up the summer mountains
The Stubnerkogelbahn in Bad Gastein runs continuously until 10:30 p.m. (last descent).

At the Hirsch und Maus mountain restaurant, you can enjoy hearty delicacies, live music, and the best view from the terrace.
Warm clothing and sturdy shoes are highly recommended, as it gets very chilly after sunset in the Alps during spring.
